When I was in elementary school, our class was taken on a field trip to hear the Buffalo
Philharmonic Orchestra. We were seated in the front row near the Violin section. All of a sudden, they started to play the
"Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachaturian. The music was familiar to me because it was used for the Buffalo Sabres Hockey team. The
sound of the orchestra filled me with a feeling of intense exhilaration. I was thinking to myself, "How is this possible?
How can people create such a beautiful sound with these instruments." Needless to say, the entire experience was incredible.
A few years later I began studying trumpet
and loved it. Performing in the concert band was a blast. During rehearsal breaks, I would go sit in other sections of the
band to see what their music looked like. It was so cool that everyone had different parts and when the band played at the
same time, we created great music. I composed my first piece of music during the 8th grade, invited all my friends over and
asked them to bring their instruments. We started rehearsing and even though they were performing very well, it still sounded
horrible!!!!! I felt pretty awful but knew the next attempt at composing would be better. After years of training and of course,
trial and error, my first composition was published.
Composing and orchestrating are my greatest passions in life. It's very
challenging and exciting for me. When you visit my site, please listen to the film score music as well as my concert works.
